Installation of LED Light Modules in Bird Cages

AvianLighting UK sells all the component parts for lighting cages with LED modules

At the request of customers to speed up and simplify installations we have added the following items and explanations

Wood & Plastic cages Internal Wiring:

Peel double sided tape and stick modules in place where applicable screw for security.
The modules are in three’s with 2 mm banana connectors on each end one male and one female
Drill a 6.5 mm hole in the side that the power is on push the connector through use wire loop extensions if necessary
Cut off the banana connectors on the power side and attach a female connector shown below
Drill a 6.5 mm hole through the slider support push wires through the hole and attach the 2nd three modules with the connectors.
If the wires are too short use the extension the small one is approximately 10 cm the longer one is approximately 20 cm
If you have cages side by side drill a hole through the side and continue to attach male and female connectors using wire loop extensions where necessary
Power supply rating (1 amp will run 6 modules)
Modules are 1.2 watts
The colour of the LED’s is “Pure White”

Wood & Plastic cages External Wiring:
The same procedure as above but drilling holes through the top of the cage one each side of the center slide support and through the ends as before. You will also require silicone rubber feet to stack the next cage to protect the wire

Metal Cages:

Stick modules in place.
The NEW modules are in three’s with 2 mm banana connectors on each end one male and one female
Drill a 6.5 mm hole in the side that the power is on insert rubber grommet cut off the banana connectors and push the wire through the grommet .
Attach a female connector shown below
The slider support is usually held in grooves, ease it away gently from the top and slide the wire underneath protect with tape if necessary
If the wires are too short use a wire extension loop the small one is approximately 10 cm the longer one is approximately 20 cm
If you have cages side by side drill a hole through the sides insert rubber grommets and continue to attach male and female connectors using wire extension loops where necessary
Power supply rating (1 amp will run 6 modules)
One 4 LED module is 1,2watts
The colour of the LED’s is “Pure White”

POWER TO YOUR CAGES

Wiring from a power supply to layers of cages, in this case up to 4 layers can be connected. The banana connectors (male) connect to the wiring of the first module from the cage (female).
The only restriction is the Power unit 1 amp will operate 6 4xLED modules. This power unit is 2 amps which will run 12 – 4xLED modules a 5 amp power supply will run 30 – 4xLED module.

This system allows disconnection of individual rows or individual cages in the row by disconnecting the modules, making maintenance trouble-free.

This set-up with 3×4 LED modules in each cage – 9 LED’s on each level a total of 18 would require a Power Unit with an output of at least 3 amps using 2 of the connections in the photograph above.

A system can be designed to suite your birdroom or aviary.
